Projects

Marion County, Texas
In 1910, oil and gas was discovered in Marion County, one of the early reserves discovered in Texas that lead to the oil boom in America's heartland.

Regions

General Gas is primarily focused on oil and gas exploration in America. America becoming independent on oil rather than dependent on foreign countries is advantageous not only for the price of gas at the pump, but even our national security. General Gas is committed to finding, proving and utilizing either untapped or unexplored reserves.

Marion County, Texas

This area was a historical piece of the early oil boom in Texas. At closing, the wells located in this area were producing around 10 to 15 bbls per day. It is our hope that with the new technologies available to us, these wells will provide anywhere between 40 to 50 bbls per day.

It was the discovery of oil in this region that had business owners and workers flocking to the area for the first time since the 1870’s. Oil speculation in wake of the discovery drove many firms of that era to conduct their own investigations in the surrounding regions. By 1920, Marion County had established 60 new businesses, including 11 new manufacturing firms. Unfortunately the Great Depression saw this area lose nearly 70% of its business as money for speculation dried up. With the new economy of oil presented to us in the mid 2000’s, General Gas is now revisiting this once famous land in the hopes of continuing where these pioneers left off.
